Sophos standalone not updating

Immediately after installation, the Sophos for Marshal updater attempts to retrieve the latest virus scanning Engine and IDE (signature) files.

If you need to configure proxy settings, you should do so immediately and then start an update manually.

You should now find the Secondary location is editable.

New standalone installation of Sophos Anti-Virus fails to update from Sophos with the error: "Could not find a source for updated packages" Issue recently discovered by Sophos technical support and can be caused by using an outdated installer.

It is assumed that Sophos will continue to run on Windows systems prior to Windows 7 SP1 but this has not been tested.
