If you don’t want Picasa, you can download the screesaver only.
It’s a zip file, so you’ll need to unzip it, and then place the into your windows/system32 (32-bit) or windows/syswow64 (64-bit) directory.
Once you have done that, pull up the screen saver control panel in windows and select the “Google Photos Screensaver” from the list of available options.
Then click on “Settings.” You can pull images for the screensaver from different places on your computer.
The new Picasa version does not do that; any mouse movement immediately exits the screensaver.Second, in traditional web search, the goal is usually to match documents to a set of keywords in the query. That is, the query is in the same modality—text—as the documents being searched.Maybe someday Google will update the screensaver and make it more intelligent.Another thing I found out is that the screensaver that is included now with Picasa is slightly different than the older standalone one that can be downloaded by itself.
